Installation Precautions
This equipment is not designed for making emergency telephony calls when the power fails. Alternative arrangements should be made for access to emergency services. Access to emergency services can be affected by any call-barring function of this equipment.
ISDN-BRI Interface
A Cisco one-port ISDN-BRI WAN interface card with an S/T interface can be installed in any interface card slot in a Cisco 2800 series router, where it provides one ISDN-BRI connection at the S-reference point. A WAN interface Card (WIC) of this type supports S-bus sharing, and does not require a dedicated S-bus connection for each ISDN port. The ISDN usage is restricted to point-to-point mode only.
To ensure that common network timing exists between the ISDN ports, the ISDN network connection must be provided by a single network vendor or public telecom operator (PTO). Connection to multiple vendors or operators may result in lost (nonrecoverable) data packets because of timing slips.
A WIC of this type can be installed in any compatible host chassis with no impact on the capabilities, functionality, or performance of the BRI WAN interface card.
California Perchlorate Contamination Prevention Act (Title 22, California Code of Regulations, Chapter 33)
The battery inside this product might contain perchlorate, a known hazardous substance, so special handling and disposal of this product might be necessary. For more information about perchlorate and best management practices for perchlorate-containing substances, see http://www.dtsc.ca.gov/HazardousWaste/Perchlorate/index.cfm.

Statement 23—ISDN Connection Warning
|
Warning
|
The ISDN connection is regarded as a source of voltage that should be inaccessible to user contact. Do not attempt to tamper with or open any public telephone operator (PTO)-provided equipment or connection hardware. Any hardwired connection (other than by a nonremovable, connect-one-time-only plug) must be made only by PTO staff or suitably trained engineers.
|
Waarschuwing
|
|
Varoitus
