Cisco 827 ADSL Routers Installation Worksheet
The following ADSL installation worksheet contains configuration information that you need to configure your Cisco 827 ADSL routers. Once you obtain the information and enter it into the worksheet, you will have the information you need to configure your router.
You can obtain the information for the worksheet by:
•
checking your service provider's web site
•
reading the documentation you receive from the service provider
•
checking the configuration and properties on existing equipment
•
calling your service provider customer support line.
Note
If you have purchased this router from channels other that your service provider or a supported vendor, you must ensure that your service provider supports third-party ADSL routers and that your router appears on their list of approved Customer Premise Equipment (CPE).
Configuration Information
Step 1
Enter the name of your service provider

Enter the circuit ID number, which is the virtual circuit id (VCI)/virtual path id (VPI):

Enter the encapsulation type. You can choose one of the following:
•
PPP over Ethernet
•
PPP over ATM
•
RFC 1483 routed
•
Bridged

Enter the IP address for the service provider's domain name server:

Enter the static or negotiated IP address for the router assigned by the service provider. An example of a static IP address is 192.168.200.2.

Enter the type of digital subscriber line access multiplexer (DSLAM) that is terminating the digital subscriber line (DSL) circuit:
