FCC Class A Compliance
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class A digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a commercial environment. Japan VCCI Class A Compliance
This is a Class A product based on the standard of the Voluntary Control Council for Interference from Information Technology Equipment (VCCI). If this is used near a domestic environment, radio disturbance may arise. When such trouble occurs, the user may be required to take corrective actions.
Korean Class A Compliance
This is a Class A Device and is registered for EMC requirements for industrial use. The seller or buyer should be aware of this. If this type was sold or purchased by mistake, it should be replaced with a residential-use type.

Network Equipment Building System (NEBS)
Adherence to the following NEBS GR-1089-CORE requirements is necessary:
•To comply with the Telcordia GR-1089 NEBS standard for Electromagnetic Compatibility and Safety, connect the copper Ethernet and Alarm interfaces only to intrabuilding or nonexposed wiring or cabling. The intrabuilding cable must be shielded and the shield must be grounded at both ends to comply with GR-1089-CORE Intra-Building lightning requirements.
•Cisco CRS-1 Carrier Routing Systems are delivered with a provision to attach a two-hole ground lug that accepts a 6-AWG conductor to comply with GR-1089-CORE grounding requirements. See the specific Cisco CRS-1 chassis installation publication for details of the grounding provision.
•Cisco CRS-1 Carrier Routing Systems use the DC-I (DC-Isolated) grounding architecture to comply with GR-1089-CORE bonding and grounding documentation requirements. The DC input return and frame ground are isolated from one another.
•Cisco CRS-1 Carrier Routing Systems can be installed in network telecommunications facilities.
•The intra-building port(s) of the equipment or subassembly is suitable for connection to intra-building or unexposed wiring or cabling only. The intra-building port(s) of the equipment or subassembly must not be metallically connected to interfaces which connect to the OSP or its wiring. These interfaces are designed for use as intra-building interfaces only (Type 2 or Type 4 ports as described in GR-1089-CORE, Issue 4) and require isolation from the exposed OSP cabling. The addition of primary protectors is not sufficient protection in order to connect these interfaces metallically to OSP wiring.
•Cisco CRS-1 Carrier Routing Systems have AC power ports that are intended for deployments where an external Surge Protective Device (SPD) is utilized at the AC power service equipment (see definition in National Electric Code).
•Cisco CRS-1 Carrier Routing Systems are designed for a Common Bonding Network (CBN) installation.

Statement 7—DC Power Disconnection Warning

Before performing any of the following procedures, ensure that power is removed from the DC circuit. To ensure that all power is OFF, locate the circuit breaker on the panel board that services the DC circuit, switch the circuit breaker to the OFF position, and tape the switch handle of the circuit breaker in the OFF position.
