The System Description provides an overview of the Cisco Unified Communications system. It describes the Cisco Unified Communications system-level approach, provides the primary technology focus of the system release and lists key features of the Cisco Unified Communications components, and illustrates the various Cisco Unified Communications deployment models. This document also provides an overview of the steps you follow when you deploy a Cisco Unified Communications solution.

The Cisco Unified Communications System Technical Information Site is a one-stop location for all system-level documentation, resources, and training. This site contains system documentation that is presented in the network lifecycle process: Prepare, Plan, Design, Implement, Operate, and Optimize (PPDIOO). Sites are specific to IP telephony or contact center system applications.

A significant focus of the system documentation is to provide information about the system test architecture and results, end-to-end functionality, interoperability, and performance under load/stress obtained from the system-level testing. The Technical Information Site also provides links to the following:
  • Solution Reference Network Design (SRND) guides

This document provides installation and upgrade information about the IP Telephony and contact center components and configurations that have been tested and verified as a part of Cisco Unified Communications system testing. 

This document includes related information about compatibility, upgrade paths between releases, and upgrade strategies for different sized network installations. It discusses the upgrade sequence for individual test sites, emphasizing the order in which the components are to be upgraded. The System Installation and Upgrade Manual also provides references to installation and upgrade documentation for individual components.

                                     

Cisco Unified Communications System Release Notes Home  
System Release Notes describe the system-wide testing of the Cisco Unified Communications family of products that supplements the product-level testing performed on each product. System Release Notes include:
  • The functionality tested in the system release
  • A summary of the new and changed features in products that were added or changed in the Cisco Unified Communications solution set
  • Software and firmware version matrices that identify the specific release of each product tested as part of a system
  • Limitations and restrictions discovered during system testing
  • Links to related documentation for each product in the Cisco Unified Communications product family

 

Cisco Unified Communications System Test Results Home  

System Test Results document the interoperability testing done between Cisco Unified Communications family of products and the consequent test results. This document is of interest to customers who want to know the details of what was tested during Cisco Unified Communications System Releases and the outcome of such testing. The System Test Results document includes information such as: test case identifiers, descriptions of the executed test cases, call flows among the tested components, test status, and resulting defects.
