Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco® Transport Manager Release 2.2 and Release 3.1. The last day to order Cisco Transport Manager releases 2.2 and 3.1 is February 23, 2005. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until February 23, 2008. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco Transport Manager Release 2.2 and Release 3.1. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the latest release of Cisco Transport Manager, which provides enhanced functions and supports the latest releases of the managed network elements. Information about this product can be found at:
Table 3 provides relevant information for migrating from Cisco Transport Manager Release 2.2 and Release 3.1 to Cisco Transport Manager Release 4.7, which is the current general availability release at the issue date of this notice.
Before upgrading Cisco Transport Manager, always check that the new release supports the release of network elements to be managed. Support information is available in the release notes, available at:

The recommended replacement for Cisco Transport Manager Release 2.2 and Release 3.1 is Cisco Transport Manager Release 4.7 (Table 3) or the current general availability release of Cisco Transport Manager. Network element Right to Use (RTU) licenses do not need to be upgraded; they are release independent. RTU licenses that were purchased for Cisco Transport Manager Release 2.2 or 3.1 are still valid for Cisco Transport Manager Release 4.7. New RTU licenses can be purchased for additional network elements that are added to the network.
