Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Cisco 3662 Telco Versatile DCN Access Platform. The last day to order the affected product is January 1, 2007. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until December 31, 2011.
Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers who are using the Cisco 3662-AC-CO, or Cisco 3662-DC-CO are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco 3800 Series Integrated Services Routers for compatible sync/async, serial and T1/E1 densities, redundant AC or DC power, and higher performance levels. PRODUCT MIGRATION OPTIONS
The recommended replacement for the Cisco 3662 Telco Versatile DCN Access Platform is the Cisco 3800 Series Integrated Services Routers. The CISCO3845 and the CISCO3845-DC are the recommended platforms for customers to migrate to from the CISCO3662-AC-CO and the CISCO3662-DC-CO.
Customers can use the Cisco Technology Migration Plan (TMP) to trade in products and receive credit toward the purchase of new Cisco equipment. For more information about Cisco TMP, go to: http://www.cisco.com/go/tradein/. The Cisco TMP application requires all users to have a Cisco.com user ID.
Customers may be able to continue to purchase the end-of-sale product through Cisco's Authorized Refurbished Equipment program.
