This Product Bulletin describes the content and delivery information concerning Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.2(14)SU forthe Cisco® 7200 Series Router. This is an early deployment release that supports the Cisco 7200 Series routers, adding supporting functions to the existing IP Security (IPSec) VPN High Availability feature set.
NEW FEATURES IN CISCO IOS RELEASE 12.2(14)SU
Networks today require that VPN technology deliver high network availability as business success increasingly relies on network access around the clock. IP Security (IPSec) stateful failover ensures maximum network uptime for critical services such as client and server applications or voice and video over a VPN. Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(14)SU adds support for the latest Cisco 7200 Series Router hardware, including the VPN Acceleration Module 2 (VAM2) and Network Processing Engine (NPE)-G1, for improved VPN performance. Additionally encrypted preshared keys are supported for storing passwords more securely. Support will continue for generic routing encapsulation (GRE) offered in Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(11)YX1.
Note: With Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(14)SU, up to 2000 concurrent IPSec tunnels are supported. Please contact your Cisco account team for additional 12.2(14)SU design recommendations.
