Cisco® introduces software applications from the Cisco Unified Communications System of products that will install on specific customer-provided IBM xSeries x3250 or x3650 servers. Applications available include: Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Emergency Responder, Cisco Unified MeetingPlace® conferencing, Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express, Cisco Conference Connection, Cisco Unified Contact Center Express, Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise, Cisco Unified Intelligent Contact Management Hosted, Cisco Personal Assistant, Cisco Unified IP Interactive Voice Response (IP IVR), and Cisco Unified IP Queue Manager. Customer-provided servers must match the exact server configurations listed in the tables. Any deviation from the supported configurations may result in an incomplete installation and an unsupported system.

Cisco Approved Hardware Configuration Requirements
IBM x3650 Single-Processor Intel 5140 2.33 GHz
This processor requires Cisco Windows OS 2000.4.4 or Cisco Unified Communications Manager 5.1.1. The scheduled ship date for Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.0.1 was June 29, 2007, but the product will remain on new product hold until July 23, 2007. This server is not supported in Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0.
The IBM x3650 is a robust server solution designed for Cisco Unified Communications software applications. As many as 2500 Cisco Unified IP Phones can be supported by a single x3650 server running Cisco Unified Communications Manager. When clustered properly, as many as 10,000 users can be supported. The required processor is an Intel Xeon 5140 2.33-GHz processor. No specific memory configuration is required as long as 2 GB of memory is provided. This server is the configuration equivalent of the Cisco MCS 7835-I2.

IBM x3650 Dual-Processor Intel 5140 2.33 GHz

As many as 7500 Cisco Unified IP Phones can be supported on a single server running Cisco CallManager 3.3 or later. The required processors are dual Intel Xeon 5140 2.33-GHz processors. No specific memory configuration is required as long as 4 GB of memory is provided. The scheduled ship date for Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.0.1 was June 29, 2007, but the product will remain on new product hold until July 23, 2007. This server is the configuration equivalent of the Cisco MCS 7845-I2.

Availability
High availability can be achieved with the clustering capability of Cisco Unified Communications Manager. Clustering aggregates the power of multiple, distributed Cisco Unified Communications Manager applications, enhancing the scalability and accessibility of the servers to phones, gateways, and applications. Triple server redundancy improves overall system availability.
Older xSeries servers are still supported by the Cisco Unified Communications Manager installation process. Following are the previously supported IBM xSeries server configurations.
Older IBM Servers
IBM xSeries 306 Single-Processor 3.06 GHz
The IBM xSeries 306 is a robust server solution designed for Cisco Unified Communications software applications. As many as 1000 Cisco Unified IP Phones can be supported by a single x306 server running Cisco Unified Communications Manager. When clustered properly, as many as 4000 users can be supported. The required processor is an Intel Pentium 4 Xeon 3.06-GHz processor. No specific memory configuration is required as long as 1 GB of memory is provided.

IBM xSeries 306 Single-Processor 3.4 GHz
This processor requires Cisco OS 2000.4.1b, which shipped on October 3, 2005.

It supports up to 1000 Cisco Unified IP Phones on a single server and up to 4000 Cisco Unified IP Phones when clustered properly. The required processor is an Intel Pentium 4 3.4-GHz processor. No specific memory configuration is required as long as 2 GB of memory is provided.

GAV-to-MTM mapping for L.A. and A.P. Geographies: 1Mx > 11X, 1Sx > 15X, 2Mx > 21X, 2Sx > 25X, 4MY > 41X, 4SY > 45X, 5MY > 51X, 5SY > 55X. L.A. and A.P. models 4xX and 5xY will need the last digit (X) substituted with a country-specific designator. For example, Model 31X may become 31L. Please note that Asia Pacific and Latin America models of the 8836-5SY are not supported on OS 2000.4.1b. For those countries use the x306 3.06GHz 8836-2SY model listed and OS 2000.2.7.
IBM xSeries 306m Single Processor 2.8 GHz
This processor requires Cisco Windows OS 2000.4.3 or Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0.3. The scheduled ship date for Cisco Windows OS 2000.4.3 was June 1, 2006, and the scheduled ship date for Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0.3 was June 15, 2006.
The IBM xSeries 306m is a high-performance server platform for today's unified communications applications. It supports up to 1000 Cisco Unified IP Phones on a single server and up to 4000 Cisco Unified IP Phones when clustered properly. The required processor is an Intel Pentium D 2.8-GHz processor. No specific memory configuration is required as long as 2 GB of memory is provided. This server is the configuration equivalent of the Cisco MCS 7825-I2-IPC1.

This server is not supported in Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0.

**This IBM build-to-order model must be configured with Intel 950 3.4-GHz processor, 2-GB RAM, two 80-GB simple-swap SATA drives and IBM CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo Ultrabay Enhanced Drive. Use of this model requires an IBM technician to reset the MTM to 8849-K2Y if Cisco Unified Communications Manager 5.1 is being installed.
The 8849 machine type carries a one-year limited parts and labor warranty. The 8491 machine type carries a three-year limited parts and labor warranty.
IBM x3250 Single-Processor Intel 3050 Xeon 2.13 GHz
This processor requires Cisco Windows OS 2000.4.5 or OS 2003.1.2 or Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.0.1. This server is not supported in Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0. It is the configuration equivalent of the Cisco MCS 7825-I3.
The IBM x3250 is a high-performance server platform for today's unified communications applications. It supports up to 1000 Cisco Unified IP Phones on a single server and up to 4000 Cisco Unified IP Phones when clustered properly. The required processor is an Intel Dual-core 3050 Xeon 2.13-GHz processor. No specific memory configuration is required as long as 2 GB of memory is provided.

The xSeries 330 is a high-performance server platform designed for today's unified communications applications. When clustered properly, 2000 users can be supported. The minimum required processor is an Intel Pentium III 800-MHz processor. No specific memory configuration is required as long as 512 MB of memory is provided.
