Problem

The following dspcd command output example from a PXM1E shows the card in the Failed state:

When the PXM1E is moved from an MGX 8830 chassis to an MGX 8850 chassis, the Failed Reason indicates a mismatch on the backplane—SHM_CDF_BKPL_NVID_MISMATCH. The node is in the UNKNOWN state.

Solution

You must use the shellConn prompt shmFailRecoveryHelp command, followed by option 3 (shmRecoverIgRbldDisk), to recover the PXM1E to the ACTIVE state. The following example shows the shellConn command and option:

shmFailRecoveryHelp

 _UNKNOWN_.7.PXM.if > sh
pxm1e> shmFailRecoveryHelp

* 4. Program NVRAM              shmRecoveryNvramHelp

pxm1e> shmRecoverIgRbldDisk
