Introduction

This document describes the procedure for upgrading System Controller Module (SCM) software using ViewRunner software on a Cisco 6100/6130 Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM) with NI-1.

Components Used

The information in this document is based on the software and hardware versions below.

  • Cisco 6100/6130 Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM) with NI-1

  • ViewRunner software

The information presented in this document was created from devices in a specific lab environment. All of the devices used in this document started with a cleared (default) configuration. If you are working in a live network, ensure that you understand the potential impact of any command before using it.

Upgrade Procedure

When ViewRunner surveys the chassis, it should see only the SCM card. From this point, follow the instructions below:

  1. Select the Tools tab, and then select Upgrade Looprunner Software.

  2. Click Next and navigate to the directory where the Cisco 6100 images are located.

  3. Click OK.

  4. Check the Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) server image path. A list of hardware levels on the cards is displayed.

  5. Verify that the hardware levels on the cards match the current image. The images download.

  6. Click Yes after the download finishes.

  7. Click Finish.

    When the upgrade is successful, ViewRunner shows all the appropriate modules.
