New Catalyst 4500 Series Power Supply Options
Cisco Systems is pleased to announce availability of a new Catalyst 4500 Series 1400W DC Power Supply with Integrated Power Entry Module (PEM) and a new External AC Power Shelf.
The 1400 Watt DC power supply will be available March 20th, 2003; the External AC Power Shelf will be available March 31st. FCS is expected to follow orderability by a few days. Normal lead times apply.

1400W DC Power Supply Applications
The 1400W DC power supply is ideal for service provider and enterprise customers with a DC power environment. The new 1400W DC power supply can also be used to provide up to 7500 watts for data and inline power for enterprises with an AC power infrastructure (External AC Power Shelf required).
Cisco Catalyst 4500 External AC Power Shelf Features
- Usable with all Catalyst 4500 Series chassis (Catalyst 4503, 4506, and 4507R)
- Supports two 2500W AC power supplies (1+1 redundant or combined mode)
- When strapped together, two shelves can support up to 7500 watts (3+1 redundant) for data and high-density, high-power inline power applications (future)
- Requires 1400W DC power supply
External AC Power Shelf Applications
The external AC power shelf is ideal for enterprise customers requiring high-density, high-power inline power applications in an AC environment.
