IPX customers require NPC-32 to upgrade to a later release of switch software (8.2.x and later). However, please note that Cisco is planning to make additional announcements to End of Sale and End of Maintenance (IPX, IGX, and BPX) switch software releases 8.1.x and 8.2.x and corresponding StrataView Plus software releases at a later date. In addition, IPX Release 9.1 of switch software represents the last software release for the IPX. Any future major releases of software beyond release 9.1 will not be certified for the IPX. Customers planning to upgrade should be encouraged to migrate to Cisco IGX 8400 using the Technology Migration Plan.
For additional software upgrade information, please contact your account representative.
