End-of-Life Announcement for Cisco BPX 8600 and IGX 8400 Switch Software Version 9.1
Cisco Systems is officially announcing the end of sales and end of life (EOS/EOL) for the Cisco BPX® 8600 and IGX 8400 Switch Software Version 9.1 with an effective announcement date of June 28, 2002. Cisco customers may continue to receive software support for a longer period as set forth in the milestones and timelines in Table 1.
Cisco BPX 8600 and IGX 8400 Switch Software releases 9.2.x and later will replace the software release version affected by this announcement.
It is recommended to consult with your support group before upgrading software and compatible firmware. In an effort to provide full and proper engineering support for two main baselines and encourage customers to upgrade to the latest developed releases, Cisco is ending the life of the Cisco BPX 8600 and IGX 8400 Switch Software Version 9.1. It shall be implied that any 9.1.x release not listed in Table 2 below is also covered by this End-of-sales announcement.

This includes processing RMA orders for components with this system configuration; it is also the date that the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) will no longer have any obligation to assist customers with any issues related to this software. Any assistance rendered by Cisco will be on an as available basis without warranties at the sole discretion of Cisco Systems.
