Trust & Identity includes core technologies that enable network traffic security: Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA), Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Secure Shell (SSH), Secure Socket Layer (SSL), and 802.1x.
Cisco IOS AAA network security services provide the primary framework to set up access control on a router or access server. Cisco IOS AAA is an architectural framework for configuring a set of three independent security functions in a consistent manner. It provides a modular way to perform authentication, authorization, and accounting services.
PKI provides strong and robust authentication, authorization, confidentiality, and non-repudiation for eBusiness and eCommerce applications. SSH supports secure telnet access between applications and router resources; SSL enables a secure path between a web browser and router resources.
