Virtualized Management Services refer to the ECT Management solution for achieving zero-touch deployment (ZTD), ongoing management, and "virtualization" for efficient use of server resources.
The solution includes multiple management devices for provisioning and managing ECT enabled CPEs (ie: remote routers), network monitoring, and security management of the solution. Security Device Manager (SDM) completes the initial provisioning, while Secure Device Provisioning (SDP) bootstraps the new remote access CPE. Both SDM and SDP are available as a part of the Advanced Enterprise Security image.
Cisco SM (CSM) is the central provisioning and policy push tool, while Cisco CNS 2100 Series Intelligence Engine (IE2100) is the main transport mechanism, event management, and image management system. Cisco VFrame Server Virtualization Software and Server Fabric Switches (SFS) provide a unique combination to interconnect discreet server resources together into a high performance fabric and achieve virtualization of server resources.
