Introduction
This document describes the correct way to verify a successful daily purge on the Historical Data Server (HDS) in a Cisco Intelligent Contact Management (ICM) environment.
Q. How do I verify the successful completion of the daily purge cycle on the HDS?
A. Cisco ICM initiates a purge process on each HDS Admin Workstation (AW) once every day. By default, the purge process runs each night at 12:30 A.M. The purge process deletes records that are older than a specified number of days. When you configure the ICM databases you can specify the number of days to keep data for each historical table.
ICM software has automatic checks to prevent the central or HDS database from becoming full. If the Automatic Purge option is selected when you install the Logger software, the ICM software automatically deletes the oldest historical data, if it exceeds the retention period, when the central or HDS database nears its capacity. If the data has not exceeded the retention period, it is not deleted. By default, the automatic purge occurs when the database is 95% full, but you can set the percentage when you set up the Logger. You can also set the retention period for data when you set up the Logger.
If the purge cycle runs successfully, the log for the Replication Process on the HDS appears as shown below.
In this example, the purge cycle starts at 12:30 A.M. and ends at 2:02:35 A.M.
