Note these caveats as you work with CSU and a web browser:
-
The Security Socket Layer (SSL) feature of Netscape Navigator 4 for Solaris does not support the Java-based Cisco Secure Administrator advanced configuration program. To access the Cisco Secure Administrator using the SSL feature, use Netscape Navigator or Netscape Communicator for Windows 95 or Windows NT.
-
If using Microsoft IE 3.02 or later, you must have JIT compiling turned off in the Advanced Properties menu. If a later version of Microsoft IE was installed over an earlier version without removal of the earlier version, and you are encountering problems, completely remove Microsoft IE and then reinstall.
-
If using Netscape Navigator, confirm that your browser has Java and JavaScript enabled by choosing Network Preferences from the Options menu; select the Languages tab and confirm that an x is placed in the check boxes beside Java and JavaScript. Set memory cache to 8M and disk cache to 20M. There should be no proxy server selected.
-
If you are having problems with a version of Netscape you installed before installing CSU, completely remove Netscape and then reinstall.
-
You can find additional information about known browser problems in the CSU Installation Guide. Look at the section titled "Existing Issues with Cisco Secure ACS."

Note these caveats as you work with CSU and its supported databases:
-
The supplied SQLAnywhere database does not require preinstallation on the network.
-
The SQLAnywhere database engine does not support networks of more than 5,000 users and does not support database replication. If your network requires these user database capabilities, Cisco recommends preinstalling the Oracle Enterprise or Sybase Enterprise database engine.
-
Oracle Enterprise requires pre-installation and configuration. It must be running during CSU installation. For instructions on configuring this software to support CSU, refer to "Setting Up an Oracle Database for Cisco Secure" in the CSU installation guide for your software version in the Documentation for Cisco Secure ACS for UNIX.
-
Sybase Enterprise versions 11.0.2 and later require pre-installation and configuration. The software must be running during CSU installation. For instructions on configuring this software to support CSU, refer to "Setting Up a Sybase Enterprise SQL Server for Cisco Secure" in the CSU installation guide for your software version in the Documentation for Cisco Secure ACS for UNIX.
-
If you intend to set up CSU with Oracle database replication, read "Using Cisco Secure with Oracle's Distributed Database Feature" before you install the Oracle or Cisco Secure software. This document has the file name csbsdoc.pdf and can be found in the /CSCEacs/reloc/FastAdmin/docs directory of the CSU distribution CD-ROM. The document provides an easy-to-understand, start-to-finish, screen-by-screen configuration example of setting up Oracle database replication to work with CSU.
-
From CSU version 2.3, Oracle enterprise version 7.33 or later is required for database replication and DSM support.
-
Oracle SQL*Net and TCP/IP protocol adapter from Oracle 7.3.4 or later are required with CSU 2.3(1). These are the required components on the system where CSU is installed. It is highly recommended (although not required) to have Oracle 7.3.4 or later rdbms server.
