Announcing Cisco Personal Assistant 1.4 Update

Cisco Systems announces availability of the next version of Cisco Personal Assistant 1.4. Cisco Personal Assistant 1.4 helps busy professionals stay connected with dedicated administrative assistance that's easy to use, customize, and—together with Cisco Unity—delivers feature-rich Unified Communications to the enterprise.

Key features of Cisco Personal Assistant 1.4 are:

•An optional enhanced text-to-speech interface for speaking names out of corporate directory and reciting call routing rules

•Create call pickup timeouts for each destination within a destination group

•Proxy access for managing others users call routing rules

•Users can synchronize their locale preference with the locale preference set in Cisco Unity or Cisco CallManager when using Cisco Personal Assistant 1.4 for the first time

•Specify authentication using Cisco Unity subscriber phone password or Cisco CallManager pin

•Ability for the system administrator to create system wide call routing rules

•Ability for the system administrator to disable rules processing when a call is placed to user's personal destination

Availability

The Cisco Personal Assistant 1.4 begins shipping August 13, 2003. Customers interested in purchasing Cisco Personal Assistant 1.4 can place orders through their normal sales channels (see below for ordering information) beginning July 30, 2003.

Existing Cisco Personal Assistant 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3 customers with current Software Application Support (SAS) or Software Application Service Upgrade (SASU) contracts can upgrade via the Cisco Product Upgrade Tool (PUT) at:
http://www.cisco.com/upgrade beginning August 6, 2003.

For customers who do not have a SAS or SASU contract, customers can upgrade by ordering part number SW-PASR-UPG= via the Cisco ordering tool at: http://www.cisco.com beginning August 6, 2003. Customers are required to purchase one software kit for every Cisco Personal Assistant server.
