Games for ChangeNon-Profit URL: www.gamesforchange.org Making a Play for a Better WorldGames for Change was founded in 2004 to help individuals and organizations use digital games to bring about social change, providing a national hub and expertise to help network and develop game projects. The organization uses an email listserv to connect 800 participants who are creating and promoting the kind of digital games that inform and educate the players about vital issues affecting their lives. The Games for Change website provides updates on current games in development, links to articles, and access to several online "games for change." Recently, Games for Change launched its "Knowledge Network," which will study the ways that digital technologies have influenced how young people learn, play, socialize, and participate. Serving as a bridge between games, players, and supporters all over the world, Games for Change continues to promote a digital medium that both entertains—and informs. |
