The Cisco Video@Work Contest

Tell Us How Video is Transforming Your Work Life

At Cisco, we believe in innovation, and we think that there are many companies out there that are using video in creative ways that are transforming the enterprise, and improving the efficiency of the workforce. We want you to tell us about it, and we want you to do it using video.

Create a short (3-5 minute) video clip that describes how the use of video has improved your work life. Has it made you more productive? Has it reduced the amount of travel you have to do? Has it built stronger ties to co-workers, and the company as a whole? Tell us your story, for an opportunity to win.

Video is transforming the enterprise. It's changing the way we work.

My company is not using video yet. Can I still participate?
Yes. Not every company is at the same stage in their adoption of video. Use this as your opportunity to share your ideas and vision about how your work life could be improved by the use of video.

How will you judge the entries? What are you looking for?

  • All entries will be judged by a panel from the Network Systems team at Cisco Systems.
  • The main judging criteria will be the innovation in the ideas discussed and the interesting ways in which you present the benefits derived from those ideas.
  • Keep it brief. Try to limit your video contest entry to 3-5 minutes.
  • You can use a video camera, a web camera, or even a cell phone camera. Just make it interesting and compelling.
  • We don’t want to stifle your creativity. Perhaps you can choose to illustrate the value of video in the workplace by creating an original song, animation, dramatization or any other method of presentation. If it helps you demonstrate the value of the technology in a more exciting way, then let your imagination go to work.
  • The video should be more about the personal experience of video at work, and less about the technology or your company. Please avoid using your company name or specific vendor names (even Cisco) in your presentation.
  • It is the responsibility of the contestant to ensure that proper usage rights have been obtained for any copyright material or other intellectual property used in the video.

When will winners be announced?
Winners will be announced at the Cisco Live! 2008 event on June 22nd, 2008. You do not need to be present to win. Prize winners will be notified by email or telephone.
