Problem Description
Residual node and/or slot data may exist on PXM-HD in PXM-45 based MGX 2.x systems. \
This residual configuration data could become activated under a variety of conditions, including the following:

PXM-HD replacement
-
ATM Switching Service Module (AXSM) front and/or back card installation/replacement
-
Via switchcc or resetcd commands
-
During a software upgrade
Background
Field Notice 14359 identified the initial anomalies and provided preventative measures to limit additional exposure. This Field Notice, 15027, provides the detection processes to determine if any existing systems have residual node/slot information on PXM-HD that could become activated.
Problem Symptoms
If a PXM-HD has residual data, the residual configuration could become active.
This residual configuration data could become activated under a variety of conditions, including the following:

PXM-HD replacement

Via switchcc or resetcd commands

During a software upgrade
Workaround/Solution
At your earliest convenience, please contact the Cisco Systems Technical Assistance Center (TAC) via one of the methods described in the For More Information section below.
Cisco Systems Customer Support Engineering (CSE) will work with you to schedule the execution of a Cisco supplied detection script and if necessary a correction script for your PXM-45 based MGX Release 2.x systems.
