The NetVersity Systems Engineer (NVSE) graduate role is the start of a career path leading to a fully-qualified Cisco Systems Engineer position. This is a lead client-facing role within the Cisco Sales team, working with the Account Management community in order to qualify the needs of our clients, develop solutions, and manage relationships. As a Systems Engineer at Cisco, you are assigned customers/clients and are responsible for the technical relationship between Cisco and this Client. You will help customers develop their business and networks using Cisco technology and products.

Our Opportunity

Title : NetVersity Systems Engineer (NVSE)
Location : 10 months' training program in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia before returning to your home country, or country of application.
MEA - Kuwait, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE
Program Start Date: August 2008
Eligibility requirements : Candidates must be able to live and work in the country they are applying to without sponsorship or visas from Cisco (except for the training in Riyadh, when visas will be supplied as needed).
Language requirements : Candidates must be able to speak both English and the local language (Arabic in most cases) of the country they are applying to.

Summary of the Role

NetVersity Systems Engineers are the technical specialists of our sales community. They work with our customers to ensure their technical needs are fully understood and met - if not exceeded - by our solutions. As a Systems Engineer at Cisco, you will have an opportunity to work with many leading Cisco technologies, as well as interact with our valued customers. In this way, you will become a trusted advisor, adding a business and client relationship context to your role.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a deep technical understanding of solution sets, architecture, and our full product line
  • Maintain a good understanding of competitor solutions, products & services
  • Support Account Managers in client meetings and presentations
  • Clearly understand the business needs and requirements of the customer
  • Consult with customers to identify and develop solutions that are technically achievable and viable for sales proposals
  • Set up and prepare equipment for customer demonstrations and evaluations
  • Actively participate and consult with Virtual Teams to advance technical projects and initiatives

Education and knowledge required

  • Bachelor or Masters degree - equivalent to top 40% in your class
  • University disciplines: Engineering/IT/Computer Science/Technology
  • A Networking specialization would be an advantage.
  • Basic Networking Knowledge expected - Knowledge and experience in LAN/WAN architecture, ISO/OSI, protocols (TCP/IP-Protocol-Suite).
  • Able to demonstrate technical knowledge and consultative skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in different OS (Windows, Linux etc.)
  • Work experience is an advantage
