Public Benefit Investment

Introduction

We team with nonprofit and non-governmental agencies around the world to develop programs that improve access to basic human needs, education, and economic opportunities. Our support includes grants, networking technologies, and employee contributions of time, expertise, and financial resources.

Cisco Impact Cash Grant Program
We invest Cisco funds in community organizations that align closely with our investment areas and grantmaking criteria. Cash grants supporting basic human needs, access to education, and economic opportunities are awarded at global, regional, and local levels. We also periodically provide grants to support disaster response and relief.

Product Grant Program
We donate Cisco products to help qualifying community organizations achieve significant gains in productivity, scalability, and cost efficiency through the strategic use of Internet and communication technologies.

Leadership Fellows Program
Our innovative Leadership Fellows Program places top-performing employees in community organizations, where they use Cisco technology, cash grants, and their business acumen to help agencies grow in scale and efficiency.

Community Partners
Cisco supports the efforts of community organizations by investing a strategic mix of business expertise, employee engagement, product donations, and cash contributions to help build and strengthen programs that aim to empower underserved communities.

Cisco Foundation
The Cisco Foundation was established in 1997 by a gift from Cisco. The Foundation makes strategic grants to support programs that deliver long-lasting impact on a local, national, and global scale.

Volunteerism
We encourage employees to donate at least one day of service each year to a community organization. In FY 2007 Cisco employees donated about 130,000 hours of their time to assist nonprofits around the world. This commitment to volunteerism has been a part of Cisco's culture from our earliest days.
