Mark Golan Mark Golan is vice president of the Connected Real Estate Practice within Cisco’s Internet Business Solutions Group (IBSG). His team develops real estate solutions, technologies, and systems for real estate and multi-industry sectors, helping to transform user experiences, streamline and enhance the design/build process, reduce building lifecycle costs, and foster environmental sustainability. Golan brings extensive experience in real estate, finance, global engineering operations, and investment banking to IBSG. During the past five years with Cisco, Golan served as vice president of worldwide real estate and workplace resources, where he directed the company’s global real estate portfolio and associated services. Prior to joining Cisco, Golan held senior finance and engineering operations positions with a small artificial intelligence company, Sun Microsystems, and Hewlett-Packard. He also spent eight years with Smith Barney and Morgan Stanley in a variety of investment banking roles. Golan is an active member of Corenet Global, the leading corporate real estate professional association, where he currently serves as chairman. He received the Corporate Real Estate Executive of the Year award from Corenet’s Northern California Chapter in 2005. Golan also serves as Cisco representative and board member for the Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Board of Advisors for RealComm, and a member of the Board of Advisors for the Journal of Corporate Real Estate. Golan graduated with honors from Tufts University with a B.A. in economics and received a master’s degree in business administration with distinction from The Amos Tuck School of Business Administration, Dartmouth College, where he was elected a Tuck Scholar. |
