Once again, Cisco CCIE has won CertCities.com's readers choice award for Most Respected High-Level Certification. CCIE has held this position since CertCities first began surveying their readers four years ago. CertCities states, "The key to the CCIE's success lies in the respect it commands from IT professionals for the painful (but worthwhile) difficulty of its hands-on practicum, which puts candidates' book knowledge to the test - for eight hours."
Several other Cisco certifications were also recognized, including:
CCSP certification - Finalist in the Best Security Certification category
CCNP certification - Finalist in the Best Mid-Level Networking Certification category
CCNA certification - Finalist in the Best Entry-Level Certification category
Further, Cisco took the "Best Overall Certification Program," again winning this title for the fourth straight year.
Elsewhere in the news, CCIE was the featured topic in the February 20, 2006 issue of Network World, which compared the CCIE exam to the California Bar Exam and the Certified Public Accounting exam. Though not as widely known or appreciated, those who hold CCIE can rightly claim to be the most elite in the field of networking.
