Program Overview

Cisco created the Networking Academy program in 1997 as a solution for schools that lacked the skills and resources needed to manage computer networks. The Networking Academy curricula now trains teachers, staff, and students in more than 165 countries to design, install, and maintain networks.

Initially created to prepare students for the Cisco CCNA and Cisco CCNP certifications, the Networking Academy curricula has been expanded to offer additional courses sponsored by Cisco and other IT industry leaders.

Networking Academy Corporate Partner Program

As the Networking Academy program expands to meet the growing need for IT skills, Cisco is forming partnerships with other industry leaders to extend the reach of Cisco Networking Academy and increase access to information and communication technologies.

Our partners recognize that the Networking Academy program can be a powerful tool for development, because it involves two great equalizers in life: the Internet and education. The Internet eliminates the geographic, socioeconomic, racial, and ethnic boundaries that often limit access to education and advancement, and e-learning is a highly-effective way to reach disadvantaged and at-risk communities worldwide.

By combining instructor-led, online education with hands-on laboratory exercises, and an industry-standard certifications, the Networking Academy curriculum prepares students for career development opportunities.
