The Cisco MDS 9124e Fabric Switch has up to 24 - 4/2/1Gbp/s auto-sensing Fibre Channel ports with 4Gbp/s of dedicated bandwidth to each port, and an aggregate platform bandwidth of 192Gbp/s. Base configuration of 12 ports, eight (8) internal and four (4) external ports with upgrade to 24 ports using 12-port upgrade activation license.
Performance — Up to 16 dedicated 4Gbp/s internal ports and eight (8) auto-sensing external ports capable.
Availability — Hot-pluggable design supports non-disruptive upgrades, VSANs, and PortChannels; up to three (3) redundant switch pairs per enclosure, six (6) total switches, some configuration rules apply.
Management — Advanced Cisco Fabric Manager features include virtual output queuing, flexible buffer credit allocation, PortChannels, FSPF, QoS and more; also utilizes redundant HP Onboard Administrator for IP and serial port access.
VSAN support — Industry standard for fabric virtualization, supports up to 16 VSANs per switch.
Security — An extensive framework that includes VSANs, port-level intelligent packet inspection, broadcast zones, FC-SP, DH-CHAP.
Warranty — Hardware 1 Year, On-Site, Normal Business Hours, Next Business Day Response. The hardware warranty covers firmware and embedded non-saleable software.
